An Oasis of Hope, expecting Miracles...

In partnership with the University of Texas Medical Branch, St. Vincent's House, offers free primary care to those men, women and children who might otherwise go without medical care or treatment, the indigent, transient (homeless) and under or uninsured members of our community.

St. Vincent's Free Clinic provides a place in the community where someone who has no other means can go and still receive quality medical care from people who care.

The Primary Care clinic is staffed and administered by volunteer UTMB medicalstudents and supervised by faculty members. Services include physical exams, vision screenings and immunizations.

St. Vincent's House Free Clinic provides four important aspects of primary medical care to the community:

      • Prevention and Wellness
      • Screening
      • Treatment Referrals
      • Information and Prescriptions
        •

A major focus of the clinic is the early detection and control of such illnesses such as Heart disease, Cancer, Diabetes, AIDS and other sexually transmitted diseases (STD). Other clinic services provided are HIV education and support group, a 12 Step recovery and recycled eyeglasses.

Highlighting a monthly Healthy You theme, the clinic features cholesterol & blood sugar, and blood pressure screenings, along with mammogram and bone density testing. Summer 2000, two new additions were introduced; Personal/Family Mental Health Counseling and Occupational Therapy.
