| The Transportation program provides a viable means for low-income
residents, senior citizens, medical patients, and children to reach
needed medical care and/or business appointments with door-door service.
The Transportation program works in concert with the Meals on Wheels program delivering hot meals to the elderly and disabled. The St. Vincent House van is a real lifeline to the community and has delivered more than 3,100 meals last year, making more than 4,600 pick-ups.
The Transportation program also affords many children from low-income families the opportunity to participate in recreational and cultural activities throughout the greater Galveston community. |
