We are so proud of Leslie Garza, our Director of Diaper Bank Operations! She has had a busy October completing her Community Health Worker training in South Padre Island and representing the Galveston Diaper Bank at the The National Diaper Bank Network Conference in Vegas where she connected with inspiring leaders nationwide who are working to end diaper need, incontinence supply insecurity, and period poverty.

Leslie returned re-energized and ready to bring fresh ideas and renewed energy to better serve Galveston County families.

It’s 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐃𝐢𝐚𝐩𝐞𝐫 𝐍𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐖𝐞𝐞𝐤 (September 15–21, 2025)! 🧡💙

As the only organization in the region solely dedicated to providing diapers, wipes, adult incontinence products, and feminine hygiene supplies 𝐚𝐭 𝐧𝐨 𝐜𝐨𝐬𝐭, we play a vital role that no other safety net fulfills. In 2024 alone, we distributed over 𝟐 𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐬𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧 𝟖,𝟎𝟎𝟎 𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐝𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐬. Behind every number is a family in crisis and a caregiver seeking relief and these essentials often become the first step toward stability.

This September also marks our 12th anniversary, a meaningful time to reflect on the power of dignity and care. As well, national observances that tie directly to our mission: Baby Safety Month, National Diaper Needs Awareness Week (Sept. 15-21) & World Alzheimer’s Day Sept. 21). To honor this, we are launching our 𝐅𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐀𝐧𝐧𝐮𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐨𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 & 𝐆𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐢𝐠𝐧, a new tradition to strengthen support and build stable, predictable funding for the future.
